"NCIS" will never be the same again as one of the show's most tenured cast member Michael Weatherly will be departing after 13 seasons. Fortunately, he confirmed that fans will still see him in an episode or two in the future.

For Weatherly, shooting the last scene in the season finale did not feel sad at all as he was overwhelmed by extreme excitement instead. He also took his time thanking everyone he worked with since 2003.

"The last scene that I shot was the last scene of the episode, and it was incredibly exciting. It was in the squad room," Weatherly told E Online. "I spent the last couple of weeks walking around and trying to say hello and thank you to as many people [as possible]."

He added that he was moved by director Dennis Smith's words to treat everyone as family and he took it so seriously that he thanked everyone he ran into. On the bright side, Weatherly confirmed that he will make guest appearances in future episodes of the series.

"I would absolutely be open to anything and everything, including things that no one's even thought of yet-so I would say the long answer is yes [to a guest spot in the future]," he told the publication. He added that his character, Tony DiNozzo will still be making a difference while he is not part of the team.

Moving on to "NCIS" Season 14, fans can expect the same quality as no major changes are in line for the show, CarterMatt reported. Moreover, fans can look forward to new series regulars Sarah Clarke as Tess Monroe and Duane Henry as Clayton Reeves. However, their role in the team remains unknown but fans can expect them to have huge roles as they are the show's higher profile hires in recent memory.

Story-wise, it would be interesting to see if DiNozzo's guest appearance will come as soon as Season 14 and to top it all off, fans will probably go crazy should Cote de Pablo joins him as well. The two were long-time lovers on-screen until De Pablo's character, Ziva David was presumed dead in Season 11. Later on, it was confirmed that she actually survived.
