The fourth episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, titled "The Book of Stranger," may have touched many fans with the reunion of half-siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, but what made a buzz around the web is the romance between Brienne of Tarth and Tormund Giantsbane. It instantly became everyone's favorite ship.

Dan Sackheim, who directed the said episode, said that the love between Brienne and Tormund is a real thing, TIME reported. The director told TVGuide.com he was not sure he was able to deliver the romance clearly, adding that "It was like a fun little bit, but I wasn't sure it was really clear that he had these amorous feelings for Brienne. I'm always amazed what fans pick up."

He added that for now it is a one-sided attraction. Could it be just a test? Sackheim hinted the possibility of Brienne-Tormund team-up, saying that Tormund would be up to the challenge, as most men do.

But then their romance might not blossom into something bigger anytime soon. In the coming episodes, Brienne is going "on a mission" and that would mean she and Tormund are going on separate ways, Winter Is Coming has noted.

Given how fans received the possibility of the wildling and the 6-foot unfeminine knight being a couple, maybe the producers would bring them together in the future. Sackheim was pleased about the response of the viewers and shared that he himself had fun directing the episode. He told Tech Insider, per Winter Is Coming, how he liked this storyline for the two characters that barely show their emotions. Brienne, for one, is anything but feminine. She is more focused on her duties and responsibilities as a knight.

In the fifth episode, Brienne seems not comfortable with the gazes from the wildling. She gave him a look of disgust and she even called Tormund names when she was warning Sansa Stark. "And that wildling with the beard!" She told Lady Stark.
