Hunan TV’s "Happy Camp" was one very happy place when “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki guested in mid-May.

The episode when the 30-year-old Korean Hallyu actor guested was shown over the weekend. Soompi reported that the May 21 episode got a 2.61 percent viewership rating. It was the highest ratings across China for the variety show and the highest of all of “Happy Camp’s” 2016 episodes.

The record-breaking numbers that the show got only confirmed the drawing power of Song Joong-ki since the 16-episode “Descendants of the Sun” also broke TV viewing records in China and South Korea, resulting in the actor becoming the most popular actor in the two countries.

“Happy Camp” has been inviting Song Joong-ki to guest on the show so many times. He reenacted several scenes from “Descendants of the Sun” and joined a lot of the games.

According to AllKPop, Song Joong-ki became close to the women on the variety show.

Hunan TV posted the entire two-hour show on YouTube and it has become viral with more than 500,000 views in one day.

In the teaser of the show posted a week ago, Song Joong-ki is show kicking a white door and brandishing a yellow gun which he points at the hosts of the show. He is also shown recreating some of his “Descendants of the Sun” scenes like when a man wearing a military vest is seen lying on the studio floor with a teddy bear for a pillow.
