Rumors remain swirling that the MacBook Pro 2016 release date will happen in conjunction with Apple's 2016 WWDC this coming June, fired up all the more by the plethora of Mac deals, covering the MacBook Pro and Air 2015 versions as well as the 12-inch MacBook of last year, for the Memorial Day weekend and from which buyers can realize savings of more than $300.

The MacBook Pro in 13-inch and 15-inch configurations, the 13-inch MacBook Air and the 12-inch MacBook are all up for grabs with discounts that can go as high as $335. All OS X laptops, Apple Insider said, are 2015 models and will be delivered for as fast as 24 hours and free of charge. For online shoppers outside of New York, resellers Adorama, B&H and MacMall offer free sales tax, the report added.

For Apple fans planning to score a MacBook with the biggest saving possible, the best option is from Adorama, which sells the 12-inch MacBook of last year for only $964. The price cut on the unit, which is a Gray MacBook (1.1GHz/8GB/256GB), amounts to $335, which is the highest rollback in the ongoing weekend deals.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro (2.5GHz/16GB/1TB/M370X) on MacMall is down to $2704 with the sticker price sliced off by $295. The lowest price for the same 15-inch model (2.2GHz/16GB/256GB) is at $1799 or $200 less from B&H.

As for the 13-inch MacBook Air, B&H dangles a unit (1.6GHz/4GB/256GB) with $250 discount or for just $949. A cheaper version is also on display for only $799 or $200 less but with lower configuration (1.6GHz/4GB/128GB).

The 21.5-inch iMac is also part of the Memorial Day weekend deals for as low as $999 but shoppers are likely to consider instead the new MacBooks that Apple is said to introduce and possibly start selling at the 2016 WWDC on June 13. And that would be understandable as new models will be the latest and greatest from the tech giant, rumored to pack Intel Skylake and OS X 10.12.

The latter will reportedly take a new name, MacOS, and unpack game-changing features such as Mac for Siri and built-in support for Apple Pencil and Mac unlocking with iPhone's Touch ID. Hardware-wise, the key adjustments expected are Butterfly keys and OLED display panel that replaces the function keys.

Analyst Ming-chi Kuo said in a recent note that it will be a staggered MacBook 2016 release date with the 13-inch MacBook coming out immediately after the June WWDC event and to be followed by the new MacBook Pros a bit later.
