In the aftermath of Hodor's death and as Sansa and Jon Snow continue the preparations to reclaim Winterfell for the Starks, "Game of Thrones" fans from around the world will surely stop and watch Episode 6 (Blood of My Blood) come Sunday night. Indeed there are many things to see that for some, who are forced to rely on The Pirate Bay or KickassTorrents in the absence of HBO access, would be worth risking their privacy and security.

By providing the official trailer and screenshots of the upcoming episode, HBO has already teased that the tension between the High Sparrow and the rulers of King's Landing will be further elevated with the likelihood that Margaery Tyrell will be subjected to the same Walk of Shame ordeal suffered by Cersei Lannister in GoT Season 5. Also, Arya Stark as the assassin No One is about to make her latest kill and the target is an actress that mocks the name of Eddard Stark.

And Daenerys is finally reunited with Daario and the Mother of Dragons is all set to restore order on her kingdom and perhaps restart on her interrupted quest to grab back the Iron Throne from the Lannisters in favor of the Targaryens.

But as mentioned above, watching Game of Thrones on HBO is not always possible for majority of GoT fans. Without ready or cheap access to the show, many resort to torrents or streaming links found on file-sharing sites like TPB and KAT and in the process courting risks on their online privacy and security. In many cases, some would likely have to deal with legal problems in light of HBO's ongoing crackdown on GoT pirates.

For GoT fans left with no choice but to tap on what TPB and other sites generously offer, which is true for most viewers outside of the United States, it should be made clear that torrenting or streaming copyrighted contents such as Game of Thrones episodes is illegal. Yet if they still choose to take on the road that millions are actually navigating on, it's always best to have some form of safeguards.

The streaming option via web browsers will be a lot safer with the use of virtual private network or VPN, which BGR said in a report is a feature available to Google Chrome and Opera users. For the latter, the functionality is built-in so no need to perform tweaks. VPN can be added on Chrome thanks to Betternet extension that like in Opera permits geo-blocking circumvent and the hiding of users' IP address.

It should be noted too that sourcing GoT episodes from TPB of KAT could expose users to malware or ransomware attacks. Experts said that the best form of protection is to shun torrent and free streaming services as hackers normally concentrate attacks on these sites and more so during so-called surge moments such as the post-Game of Thrones airing on HBO. For the stubborn, the advice is to keep their machines update and recently backed up, which experts said could serve as protection or fallback but not totally foolproof.
