Xiaomi has launched a new 4K drone, which is powerful and has all the important features as any other popular drone available in the market. However, what makes this drone special is its cheap cost. The Xiaomi 4K drone is priced at just $460.

The Chinese company initially started off as a phone manufacturing unit and later evolved to become a part of the list of the top five smartphone manufacturers in the world. With an ultimate goal of making quality products available to the customers in affordable prices, the company also deals with manufacturing and supply of other products as well, including Mi Box, MiBand, Mi TV and Mi Portable charger.

Now, the tech giant has come up with an affordable drone that not only looks good, but has all the specs to compete with the other giants available in the drone market today. For now, Xiaomi has launched two versions of the drone - one that shoots 1080p video and the other one shoots 4K video.

Apart from the video shooting quality, both the drones look similar in features and design. Each drone has a detachable shield attached to the four propellers. In addition, each one has a removable camera attached to a 3 axis gimbal. It helps stabilize the video and make corrections up to 2000 vibrations per second, according to N4BB.

The drone is equipped with a 5100 mAh battery that instills the machine with all the power required for a 27-minute fly run at full power. The dual PCB antennas lets the drone fly within a range of almost 2 kms. In addition, the drone has several autopilot features, including the feature to have the drone back home when it's on low battery, make it fly to a location by a single tap, automatic landing and take-off and waypoint flight path planning.

The most interesting thing about the new Xiaomi drones, just like any other Mi product, is related to its pricing. While the 1080p Xiaomi Mi drone is expected to cost around US $380, the 4K version is priced at $460, which is quite affordable for drone market enthusiasts, company's official website states.

The company has, however, not specified any official release dates for the Mi drones so far. In addition, it is still not clear whether the drones will be made available outside China.
