Known for playing Sansa Stark in "Game of Thrones," Sophie Turner is one of the cast members of the recently released "X-Men: Apocalypse." She plays Jean Grey, which was originally played by Famke Janssen in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
"This is going to be the worst 'X-Men' so far because I'm in it," Turner jokingly said in an interview with InStyle. She is gracing the cover of the magazine's July issue, which will be released on June 26.
Directed by Bryan Singer, "X-Men: Apocalypse" was released on May 27, Friday. It earned $80 million in its debut on the weekend, making it the fourth-lowest Friday-Sunday debut out of nine "X-Men" films, according to Forbes.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" was written by Simon Kinberg. Among Turner's co-stars are Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse, James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Lucas Till as Havoc, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Rose Byrne as Moira Mactaggert, among others.
About "Game of Thrones," Turner said the HBO series will not go past an eighth season. She said she kind of had a bit of a panic attack one night as she was thinking about it and compared it to graduating from high school.
"But it doesn't feel like a graduation," Turner said. She explained, "I don't have a university to go onto that's bigger and better."
Turner also revealed that playing Sansa Stark did not make her teenage life easy as for her, it is probably the thing she has struggled with the most. She said it was the character people hating on at first because she was a 13-year-old girl who should have a smart head on her shoulders and make good decisions but did not because she was blinded by love.
According to Turner, it was difficult when people started to know not only her "Game of Thrones" character's name but also her name. The years when she was 16 to 19 years old were "quite hard," she said.
For Turner, it is normal for teenagers to have a hard time growing up and having their bodies transform. But what makes it really difficult for her is when people are printing photos of her bad skin.
