Former NXT women's champion Bayley is more than ready for the main roster after spending the past four years in the developmental system. According to the latest rumors, the current plan for Bayley is to get another shot at the NXT women's title before getting called up to the main roster.

The 26-year-old started her WWE career in 2012, slowly moving up through the ranks before breaking out last year by winning the NXT women's championship. She also had two of the greatest women's matches in history with Sasha Banks at "NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn" and "NXT TakeOver: Respect."

Bayley's 223-day title reign as women's champion ended on April 1 at "NXT TakeOver: Dallas" wherein she passed out during her match with Asuka. She was given a month of hiatus before returning on the May 18 episode of NXT only to lose her match with Nia Jax.

According to Cageside Seats, the current plan for Bayley is to have another match for the NXT women's championship before finally getting called up to the main roster. However, she is not scheduled to appear at "NXT TakeOver: The End" on June 8 due to a kayfabe knee injury.

The next NXT live event will be in August and it could possibly Bayley's last match at developmental. Many fans are surprised that she has not been called to the main roster and join the rest of NXT's Four Horsewomen.

Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Banks were all called up on July 2015 while Bayley was stuck in NXT. Nonetheless, she became the face of the women's division and leads by example to other wrestlers such as Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Eva Marie, Nia Jax, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

It is also the main reason why the WWE has not called up Bayley to the main roster, Wrestling Inc. reports. Top WWE officials are adamant to promote her because there is no top female babyface star to replace her.

On the other hand, the WWE recently announce the return of the brand extension which may also lead to an earlier call-up for Bayley. A brand split will mean more stars are needed for both Raw and SmackDown.
