"Tekken 7" has been announced last year and yet its official release date is still unavailable. Rumors abound regarding its possible release date, including the highly speculated and anticipated game release in 2017 PS4 and Xbox One platforms.

The eagerness of gamers to take hold of the next installment of the game series had doubled especially when the game developer announced that "Tekken 7" will be released on both Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One platforms. Apart from that reason, the new standard graphic presentation and highly detailed characters including newcomers Kazumi Mishima, Claudio, Josie, Shaheen, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, Gigas, according to IGN, likewise ignited the interest of gamers worldwide.

However, despite the pressure from expecting gamers, it seems like the people behind the successful game franchise still has no idea on the exact release date of Tekken 7. According to some reports, game producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed the delay of the release is because of the finalization of the title of the installment. When a Tekken fan asked Harada via Twitter, the game producer/director made a reply but to no avail.

Apart from the release date of the next series, gaming enthusiasts are also hoping to see the highly imagined crossover of Street Fighter. It has been announced previously that the game developer will soon introduce "Tekken X Street Fighter." But almost six years after its initial announcement, there was no follow-up regarding its development until two months ago when game director Katsuhiro Harada made a critical statement.

"When we develop fighting games, we try to keep the core community in mind as well as the wider audience that wants to play these games," Harada said in an interview with GameSpot. "We don't want to split these communities, so a good window in which to release "Tekken x Street Fighter"  is something that's become difficult recently. So it's on hold for the moment."

It is somehow depressing not to have an early release or even an announcement of the official release date of the highly anticipated update of the Tekken, especially that the franchise already had its 20th anniversary. Guess gamers would just have to wait and see the improvements and the outcome of the delayed release of the game. On a lighter note, perhaps this delay is part of a strategy to subtly incorporate the crossover without fragmenting the each game's individual fan groups.
