Update version 2.8.0 for Nintendo's "Splatoon" will bring new weapons and gears besides game enhancing fixes. When the update is deployed on June 7, it will also bring a small number of weapon and stage modifications.

"Splatoon's" weapon shop, Ammo Knights, will sell nine new weapon combos Sheldon's Picks Vol. 2 after the update, according to Attack of the Fanboy‎. In addition, the shop in Inkopolis Plaza will offer two pieces of gear.

The Nintendo games-dedicated website also notes that the update will go live this Tuesday at 7pm PT/10pm ET, therefore, "Splatoon" gamers in Europe and Japan will get the update on June 8. Moreover, the user should successfully download and install the update, which will require up to 767 MB, before the new weapons and gears to appear in their respective shops.

As written in the patch notes at the Nintendo website, besides the nine weapon changes, the update comes with a fix to the issue that players can jump unusually higher by touching the other player's Splash Wall. The Nintendo page also highlighted the stage adjustments that will happen after the patch. For one, players in all modes will no longer be able to make shortcuts in Arowana Mall.

Second, in Bluefin Depot, the problem that players in the Rainmaker mode can go inside a certain object should no longer be a problem after the update. Third, in Camp Triggerfish, the mechanism that detects that a player has taken the Rainmaker too far back towards the player's start point will also be adjusted. Lastly, after the updates are installed, players in all modes will no longer be able to make shortcuts at the Piranha pit.

The patch notes specially indicated that this update is important so players can play online but, rest assured, downloading the patch will have no effect on any saved data.

Meanwhile, "Splatoon" is a third-person shooter video game that was developed by Nintendo, especially for the Wii U console. It was released globally in May 2015. It has two main player modes namely single-player and multiplayer. It has been recognized and previously awarded with The Game Award for Best Shooter and The Game Award for Best Multiplayer.
