This may be a bad news for the fans of the musical comedy film, "Pitch Perfect," because recent reports are loud that the third installment has been delayed to give way for the comedy movie "Girl Trip."
Recent report suggests that Universal Pictures decided to release "Girl Trip" first before the long awaited "Pitch Perfect 3." It was said that the third installment has been pushed back to a December 2017 premiere, Movie Web has learned. The publication also cited that this was the third time that the film's distribution company changed the premiere date of the film. It can be remembered that "Pitch Perfect 3" was originally announced to have a July 2017 release then it was changed to August, and recently was shifted to December.
It is said that the reason behind the third premiere shift is not only due to "Girl Trip," but was also because the midsummer line-up is already crowded. It was said that "Pitch Perfect 3" was supposed to be in line with other huge films such as "Dunkirk" by Christopher Nolan, "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" by Luc Besson, the animated "The Story of Ferdinand" of 20th Century Fox, "War of the Planet of the Apes" by Matt Reeves, and the reboot of "Jumanji" who will star Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Heart.
It was also cited that if the August schedule of "Pitch Perfect 3" was not changed, the film would also face movies like "Blazing Samurai" and "Alien: Covenant," which was as sequel of the 2012 film "Prometheus."
On the other hand, in terms of "Pitch Perfect 3" casting details, according to Screen Rant, the only confirmed cast members of "Pitch Perfect" 3 are Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, which was said to reprise their roles. Elizabeth Banks is also said to return and take the directing seat once again.
Although the plot of "Pitch Perfect 3" was not yet announced, the film's tagline "Get ready to have a Merry Pitchmas" may serve as clue that the long awaited third installment may rotate on a Christmas story arc.
