In "The Flash" Season 2 finale "The Race of His Life," Barry Allen goes back in time to save his mother from getting killed by Reverse-Flash. This means Barry has created a new timeline. By saving his mother, he changed the events of his life that were depicted in Season 1 and 2.

During his panel at MegaCon, Valdes revealed how events of Season 2 finale will impact "The Flash" Season 3. While the actor refrained from revealing specific details, he teased how things will be different from previous seasons and that exciting changes can be expected. He assured fans will like it.

"All I'm going to tell you is things are going to be different, way different. Not in a bad way; I think in a really exciting way, and it's that difference that's going to inform Barry's trajectory throughout the season, and I think people are going to like it," Valdes said while speaking about "The Flash" Season 3 (via Comicbook).

The actor also talked about the possibility of the show introducing "Flashpoint" story line for Season 3. It is miniseries in DC Comics universe that was developed by Geoff John and Andy Kubert. In this timeline, after saving his mother, Barry wakes up to find the world radically changed. He discovers that he is powerless, his mother is alive and Iris is married to someone else. And the world is caught in the war between Aquaman and Wonder Woman.

The network is yet to confirm the introduction of "Flashpoint Paradox" story line. However, Valdes said that "there's every chance" of "The Flash" Season 3 depicting the events of the altered timeline. Meanwhile, the actor assured that the show will continue to honour the "original chronology."

"I can say, without a doubt, wherever we go from here, it's going to be unique and it's going to be different," Valdes added. "It's going to honour the original chronology and the original lore while at the same time providing a new spin on it and I think it's that spirit that's allowed our shows to do as well as they do so I ask the fandom to have faith."

"The Flash" Season 3 is expected to air in October 2016. However, the network is yet to reveal the official premiere date. So, stay tuned for more spoilers and updates.
