"The Conjuring 2" is a follow-up of the first installment featuring the story of a couple named Ed and Lorraine Warren. The story dates back to the 1970s and examines the popular cases solved by the couple, who learn about supernatural occurrences in Enfield, England.

Recently, Wan explained to The Hollywood Reporter  why it was not easy to tell Ed and Lorraine's story for the second time. The director told the publication that compared to the second movie, the first installment named "The Conjuring" was easy to direct.

"The first movie was easy, there was no one breathing down my neck and looking over my shoulder," Wan said. "Coming to this it was very difficult just from an emotional standpoint, to try and make a movie that honors what the people love about the first one so much."

Meanwhile, co-writer Corey Hoyes told the publication that horror can take place in any part of the world and can affect anybody or any religion. He further said how what happened in England is just the beginning, there are weird stories associated with every country in the world.

In "The Conjuring 2," Ed and Lorraine first hesitate to take up the England case because of Lorraine's encounter with the supernatural nearly six years ago from the timeline of the film. However, they decided to move to London to discover the how similar their story is placed with Enfield.

Just like "The Conjuring," the second installment is based on real events that take place in the life of the two paranormal investigators. The case files and true testaments are taken from people who experienced similar things in different parts of the world.

"The Conjuring 2," which is slated to hit the box office on June 10, Friday, takes time to establish the characters and location before getting too flashy, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
