On June 7, Tuesday, Lee's representative told Kpop Herald that the actor was invited to the Shanghai International Film Festival 2016. The representative confirmed that Lee's appearance in the highly anticipated event will help promote his upcoming "Bounty Hunters" film.

In "Bounty Hunters," Lee plays the skilled martial artist, Yi San, who is a member of top-notch bounty hunters. It is expected to highlight action, thrill, romance and comedy all in one. With a scheduled released in local theaters on July 1, the action-packed film marks Lee's debut film in China.

Lee will join the likes of Hwang Jung Min, Kim Ji Won, Ha Ji Won, Chun Jung Myung, BIGBANG's T.O.P and more. Reports claimed that Jung Min was invited for his blockbuster film "The Himalayas," while BIGBANG's T.O.P will be in attendance for the upcoming German-Chinese film, "Out of Control," along with Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung Pak-Chi.

Further, "Descendants of the Sun" star Ahn Bo Hyun will bow down at the upcoming event after his latest movie "Hiya" has been nominated in the 19th SIFF Panorama Korean Film 2 category. Ahn takes on the role of Lee Jin Sang, a delinquent of the family and is dealt badly by his younger brother Jin-Ho (Hoya). Despite that, Lee Jin Sang shows undying love for his younger brother.

"It's a small movie, but it has a big message. It gives a great deal of comfort," a representative from the Shanghai Film Festival told the local media, as quoted by Drama Fever. The representative added that the said short-film will hold its world premiere in SIFF.

The Shanghai International Film Festival, which is touted to be one of the biggest events in Asia, will feature a feast of Korean films extravagantly prepared for enthusiastic Hallyu fans.
