In a post from Laptop Mag, they have tried to weigh in the MacBook and ZenBook 3 basing on its features, design, performance, display, battery life and some ergonomic aspects. In their own opinion, ZenBook 3 could be the next big thing when it comes to ultraportable notebook computers.

In the external specifications, the two laptops have the same casing material made from premium aluminum alloys but the ZenBook 3 is a little bit lighter compared to MacBook. ZenBook is thinner at a height of 0.47 inches from flat base to top while Macbook is at 0.52 inches which is slightly thicker.

Asus ZenBook 3 is wider though with a 12.5 inches screen while the MacBook has only 12 inches but both with LED-Backlight LCD. Comparing the keyboards and touchpads of the two, ZenBook 3 has a satisfying snappy feedback when pressed. Keyboard buttons of Zenbook 3 has a 0.8mm vertical travel while the MacBook has only 0.5mm. Though the specific dimensions of the ZenBook's touchpad is not yet revealed, the only edge it has over the MacBook's is the fingerprint reader on the upper right corner.

Moving on with the internal hardware specifications, in a clear chart presented by Engadget, ZenBook 3 again holds the superiority when it comes to performance in data processing. Asus got the Intel Core i5 or i7 while Apple has the Intel Core m3 or m5. The only edge of Apple with its processors is it consumes lesser power which may extend the battery life of the MacBook a little longer than ZenBook 3.

Talking about the selling price of each, they considered at par. MacBook has always been a premium laptop with a memory of 8GB which was greatly paired with its processors so the selling price of the MacBook with Intel Core m3 is $1,299 and the MacBook with Intel Core m5 is $1,599.

The ZenBook 3 with Intel Core i5 is paired with a lesser RAM at 4GB with a selling price of $999 and the ZenBook 3 with the Intel Core i7 is paired with 16GB of RAM is sold at a price of $1,499. Both laptops are sold at a very reasonable price.

By summing up each advantage of the two notebook computers over each other, ZenBook 3 is really considered the best of its value.
