Fox recently announced that the première date of the "Maze Runner: Death Cure" would be pushed almost a year late.

The third part of the movie instalment was originally set to be released early next year (Feb. 17, 2017) but they needed to stop filming in the middle of the production when one of their lead characters met an accident, as Dylan O'Brien was involved with a stunt accident which left the actor severely injured.

According to Mail Online, O'Brien was accidentally hit by another moving vehicle while he was still harnessed on top of a different moving vehicle. It may seem that it was just another case of a stunt gone wrong, but according to this report, the actor suffered from different injuries such as a concussion, facial fracture and lacerations.

It was obvious that the movies' production of "Maze Runner: Death Cure" had stopped, as rumors about it has circled around March but Fox did not release any official confirmation then because the production team of the movie thought that O'Brien would be back on his feet just after a few weeks off. However, the production team of "Maze Runner: Death Cure" did not expect that the actor would be needing a longer time to recover from his injuries.

O'Brien's publicist Jeniffer Allen released a statement that caused the "Maze Runner: Death Cure's" April production to shut down, according to Moviefone. Allen stated that the actor experienced serious injuries and needed more time to rest and recover before he goes back filming.

After Allen issued the statement, Fox also released one stating "The resumption of principal photography on Maze Runner: The Death Cure has been further delayed to allow Dylan O'Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible."

Now that the filming of "Maze Runner: Death Cure" is on hold, the production needed to push back the premiere date, and because of how delayed the filming was, they decided to release it on 2018 instead. "The Maze Runner: Death Cure's" moved premiere date is now on Jan. 12, 2018.

Although some fans are a bit disappointed on the pro-longed waiting time for "Maze Runner: Death Cure," everyone is praying for O'Brien's speedy recovery.
