"Fifty Shades Darker" star Dakota Johnson has reportedly ended her two-year relationship with Matthew Hitt.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the on-again, off-again couple first made their public appearance in July 2014. Six months later, reports swirled that they split up.

Following their brief separation, Johnson and Hitt were once again spotted in different venues, thus heightening rumors that they probably got back together.

A few months passed yet again and the publication is now confirming that Johnson and Hitt have officially called it quits.

In the past, Johnson's "Fifty Shades of Grey" co-star Jamie Dornan was being blamed as the main reason for their breakup.

However, Dornan made it clear during an interview that he has no interest in Johnson because he's madly in love and smitten with his wife Amelia Warner.

Now that their second breakup just took place, some fans believe that Johnson decided to end things with Hitt because of her mom Melanie Griffith.

Earlier this year, the 26-year-old actress spoke with the same publication at the premiere of her movie "How to be Single" to share what her mom's biggest advice for her was.

"She always said not to compromise myself or my work or my dreams for anyone," she said.

Johnson's recent statement once again sparked rumors that Griffith may not have approved her daughter's relationship with Hitt.

However, this speculation hasn't been confirmed yet by all parties.

Meanwhile, Johnson may be mending her broken heart from a recent split, but she's definitely having a blast filming her scenes as Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed."

Just recently, the actress stepped on stage in character. Immediately after the cameras stopped rolling, she enjoyed some quality time with her co-star Rita Ora.

"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated to hit theaters in the United States on Feb. 10, 2017. "Fifty Shades Freed" will be released on Feb. 9, 2018.
