There is little doubt that fresh software updates will be the star of the 2016 WWDC show but it remains possible that Apple will introduce the MacBook Pro 2016 lineup, which Apple Insider said will not hit the market until later this year. The prediction is in line with the report from Japanese blog MacOtakara that new MBPs will commence rolling out around August.

It also syncs with the recent note from KGI Securities analyst Ming-chi Kuo that new OS X laptops will not be made available within the 2016 WWDC edition. However, Kuo is convinced that Apple has set a later unboxing timing for the devices, pointing to October as the earliest possible new MacBook Pros debut.

Regardless, Apple Insider said that the rumored MacBook Pro revamps will include the issuance of a 13-inch and 15-inch models with slimmer and lighter builds. And there will be fresh features packed with the devices, bannered by OLED display panel to replace the physical function keys and Touch ID support that will remote unlocking using an iPhone.

And as the MBP operating system will be renamed as MacOS, new capabilities will be part of the package. Among the most mentioned is Siri for Mac that like in the iOS-powered iPhones and iPads will permit hands-free control of the laptop.

Believed to be powering the laptop is Intel's sixth-generation Skylake chip and enhanced storage and memory chips from Samsung. The components will ensure that the new MacBook Pros will the most powerful and fastest computing machine in its class while consuming less amount of battery juice.

The Apple Insider report contradicted too a recent report that indicated of a MacBook Air 2016 update.  The MBA are likely to see minor specs and price adjustments to keep them on circulation, the report added.

Apple will kick off the 2016 WWDC June 13.
