Xiaomi, one of the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world, has started to get out of its comfort zone. Despite not having a presence in the United States market, Xiaomi has gone bigger in its home turf and is ready to take on the US sales site.

On Feb. 12, Thursday, Xiaomi's International Vice President Hugo Barra stated the company's first major press conference, which was held in the US on the same day in San Francisco, would show the nation they are ready to face the US market and will launch its first sales site in a few months and start selling their products, according to The Verge.

The smartphone company will start selling wrist bands, head phones, and other mobile accessories online to cater to US consumers.

The company also mentioned it is about to secure a manufacturing partner in Brazil that will help in furnishing imported electronic components as it begins its sales operation in Latin America's largest economy sometime this year.

Xiaomi, which means "little rice," is a five-year-old company and has become one of China's largest smartphone maker and fastest selling brand. It has been expanding its global footprint on direct and online sales.

The company has been valued at $45 billion in a December 2014 funding round, which attracted investors ranging from Singapore's sovereign wealth fund to a private firm backed by Alibaba Group Holding co-founder Jack Ma, CNBC reported.

Lin Bin, president and co-founder  of Xiaomi, disclosed the company will soon launch its online website called Mi.com, in the coming months.
