Former EXO member Kris Wu, 25, whose departure from the boy group in mid-2014 caused a tremendous stir among their devoted fans, has officially signed under Jackie Chan's entertainment agency.

According to a report on June 16 by Chinese media outlet, Sina, Chan reportedly announced that he had signed Kris on to his entertainment agency amid an action movie event at the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival. Speaking before a predominantly Chinese crowd, the 62-year-old action star had also revealed his plans to sign more actors and actress of the next generation in the future.

"Everyone has negative news about them. Even I have negative news about me. That kind of news always blows over," Chan replied earnestly when asked about Kris's recent sex scandal, as quoted by Soompi.

The "Kung Fu Panda" actor goes ahead to say that he do not despise Kris, stating that the latter is, in fact, a very quiet and modest person. It can be recalled that Kris embarked on a solo career, a month after he left EXO on 2014.

Kris then debuted as an actor with the released of 2015's Chinese romantic film, "Somewhere Only We Know," on Feb. 14. The film grossed $37.81 million in China within the 6 days following its release. He then released his first solo song, "Time Boils the Rain," as part of the official soundtrack for the blockbuster Chinese movie, "Tiny Times 3."

From that point forward, Kris appeared in several movies, dramas and variety shows in China. He became the youngest celebrity to have his own wax figure at Madame Tussauds Shanghai in April. Esquire China also named him as Rookie of The Year in their "Man at His Best" 2014 issue.

Kris would be making his next big screen appearance in "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," an upcoming action film directed by D. J. Caruso, The Wrap reported. The film, which also stars Vin Diesel, Deepika Padukone, and Samuel L. Jackson, seemingly marks Kris' first film role in a Hollywood production.

In other news, Kris is still in an intense lawsuit battle with his former agency, SM Entertainment, along with former EXO members - Luhan and Huang Zi Tao. However, Luhan and Kris once again failed to reach a settlement with their former agency in the recent second arbitration process at Seoul Central District Court on June 13.
