Dean Ambrose finally won the WWE World Heavyweight championship at Money in the Bank after cashing in on Seth Rollins, who just defeated Roman Reigns cleanly. According to the latest rumors, Ambrose may be dropping the title immediately and Reigns will regain the WWE championship at Battleground.

At the Money in the Bank pay-per-view last Sunday, Ambrose defeated five other men in the MITB Ladder Match to win the briefcase containing a WWE title shot. He did not wait very long to cash in as he used it to challenge Rollins, who won a hellacious battle against Reigns.

The fans at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was shocked and excited at the same time as all members of The Shield held the WWE title. The Lunatic will be defending it at Battleground against Rollins and Reigns in a Triple Threat Match.

According to Cageside Seats, Ambrose will not have a long reign as WWE champion and he will likely lose the title at Battleground. It's not clear who will be the next champion but it might be Reigns again even though the majority of fans will hate it.

The Big Dog is already a three-time WWE champion and his reigns are not very memorable. He also has not gotten over crowd completely despite all the efforts of Vince McMahon and other top WWE officials.

Reigns' recent suspension may be a big factor as he will not be on television for the next month to build up the storyline. The WWE may also face a big backlash if they put the WWE championship on him since many mainstream media outlet reported his violation of the Wellness Policy.

According to FanSided, Rollins is the perfect WWE champion if they ever want to give Ambrose a short reign. The main roster does not have many heels and Rollins as a heel champion will be a very good story.

It should be noted that The Architect had a lot of momentum as WWE champion before his gruesome knee injury in November that put him on the shelf for seven months. Nonetheless, these are all just rumors at the moment and the WWE is known to change their plans many times before a pay-per-view.

Ambrose is proving to be a draw with the Raw ratings spiking up in his first week as WWE champion. If the ratings continue to trend upwards, the WWE may change their mind and give The Lunatic a lengthy reign.
