Obese people who are getting government aid are about to lose £100 a week for those that are considered who can do more for themselves.

Those people who are not able to go to work due to severe obesity or are suffering drug addiction are threatened to lose their sickness benefits unless they accept to get treatment under the medical plans to be outlined by David Cameron, United Kingdom Prime Minister.

Prof Dame Carol Black, an adviser to the Department of Health, was asked by the prime minister to test whether it is fine to withhold benefits from people who will refuse the offered treatment, The Guardian reported.

The Conservatives are seeking to make £12bn of welfare cuts in the next parliament.

Cameron states that the current system failed to encourage people with long term treatable illness to get treatment.  Around 100,000 with those conditions claim Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) from the UK government.

The prime minister announced his proposal and disclosed that some people who have current obesity problems choose a life of benefits from the government rather than working for their own benefits. He explained that the hardworking taxpayers are funding their benefits and it is not fair for them to do that.

"It is not fair to ask hardworking taxpayers to fund the benefits of people who refuse to accept the support and treatment that could help them get back to a life of work," Cameron stated.

The upcoming Conservatives government is resolute on imposing that the hardest to help get the support needed to get them back on their own feet, according to BBC News.
