YouTube is not letting up with the increasing number of competitors when it comes to live streaming as it officially announces the new feature for their mobile app.

The Google-owned video hosting site was one of the first entities to allow live video streaming to audiences across the globe. YouTube is now competing with Facebook Live, Twitter's Periscope, Amazon's Twitch and the new Live Video from Tumblr.

Facebook allowed their users to stream live from their mobile phones which was a huge convenience. YouTube only allowed their users to broadcast whatever they were doing through a desktop or laptop computer and not from a mobile phone.

YouTube Product Lead Kurt Wilms said at VidCon that they will be allowing their users to stream live from the mobile app itself, VentureBeat has learned. Facebook has also announced new capabilities for their Live feature such as the new MSQRD face filters for verified users.

Besides the new mobile livestreaming feature, the company has also announced their new investments in various fields of technology. They seem to be expanding more into the VR industry considering that it is now slowly growing more thanks to the new cheaper but more capable GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD.

YouTube has also said that they will be increasing their creator support by a hundredfold by promising an answer to all of the questions from them in just one business day, TechCrunch reported. The Creator Hub will also be getting a revamp in terms of the access to resources and the help center.

There will also be a new help program called the "Creator Academy" which aims to help aspiring YouTube video content creators to expand their viewership and reach more subscribers. Benefits will also grow along with several milestones in the subscriber count of the user.

YouTube's new live streaming feature for their mobile app is also straight and simple. All users have to do is to tap a button, take a screenshot for the video thumbnail and they are ready to broadcast to their viewers. Both the Android and iOS platform will get the new update to let the YouTube mobile app record and broadcast live streams.
