Kevin Durant is making headlines over the past several weeks with his impending free agency. But in the coming days, his popular signature shoe will also have a fair share of the spotlight.
The Nike Zoom KD 9, the latest iteration of Durant's signature line, will arrive in two new editions in July. The White/University Red colorway, which is dubbed as the "Premier" edition, will come out this weekend, Nike revealed.
The Nike Zoom KD 9 "Premier" features a white-based upper part, including the laces. It also features red Nike Swoosh and tab on the tongue, along with navy blue KD logo and pull tab on the heel area. The shoe was finished off with white midsole and outsole with red hints on the Zoom Air cushioning system.
Durant is expected to wear the shoe when he plays for USA Basketball in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics. This highly anticipated edition will have an extravagant debut this weekend in New York.
"Kevin Durant is prepared to dominate on the world's stage this summer," Nike noted. "Debuting with a movie-style world premiere in NYC, Durant's new Nike Zoom KD 9 arrives in a patriotic red, white and blue color way."
The Nike Zoom KD 9 "Premier" edition will be available on Saturday in men's sizing for $150 in SNKRS. Kid's sizing will also be released for $125 per pair on Nike.com.
Meanwhile, Nike also informed their followers that the Zoom KD 9 will hit shelves in Black/White colorway, which is named as the "Mic Drop" edition. This edition has a black-based upper part combined with white hints on the toe area, Nike Swoosh logos on the side panel, KD logo on the heel area, and Durant's signature on the insole.
The Nike Zoom KD 9 "Mic Drop" was finished off with an all-black midsole and outsole. According to Nike, this edition was inspired by Durant's love for music. "It's no secret Kevin Durant has a deep love for music. He has made music of his own both on and off the hardwood. The new KD 9 celebrates KD's mic drop moments," the company noted.
This eye-catching edition will be available on July 9. The men's sizing will be sold for $150 on SNKRS, while the kid's sizing will be available for $125 on Nike.com. Check the photos of this colorway on the official product page.
