The SBS drama premiered at the top of the viewership ranking list when it debuted on June 20. The rating for the first two episodes of "Doctors" surpassed viewership ratings of other dramas in the same timeslot, according to Nielsen Korea data. "Doctors" reached nationwide ratings of 12.9 percent and 14.2 percent for its first and second episodes, respectively.

Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won's new medical drama also continues to soar with ratings increasing steadily every week. Speculations indicate that "Doctors" may even attain the same ratings' success that "Descendants of the Sun" reached when it aired in KBS earlier this year, Soompi reported. The said KBS drama that starred Hallyu stars Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki ended with a viewership rating of 38.8 percent.

"Doctors" may also be on its way to reaching a similar commercial success as its rival network's drama. The third and fourth episodes of the SBS series both posted an increase in nationwide viewership ratings. The said episodes that aired on June 27 and June 28 has reached ratings of 14.4 percent and 15.6 percent, respectively. A latest report from the research firm Nielsen Korea for the fifth episode of "Doctors" that aired on July 4 again showed an increase in ratings. Nationwide viewership numbers soared to 18.4 percent for the said episode.

The said SBS drama features the challenges of a tough female student named Yoo Hye Jung, played by Park Shin Hye, who grew up to become a doctor. Hye Jung's former highschool teacher Hong Ji Hong (Kim Rae Won) who also happens to be a doctor, ends up helping her and eventually falls in love with Hye Jung. "Doctors" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on Korea SBS network.
