The hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" is nearing the final episodes of a saga that has spanned over six seasons. With only two seasons left, cast member Maisie Williams has shared her thoughts on where she would want her character Arya Stark to be at the end of the series.
Story speculations have been a part of the HBO series since the very first season of "Game of Thrones." Some of the fan theories hinted at the origins of a character such as Jon Snow's true parents, while other involved future events. With the upcoming penultimate season of the series, Williams has revealed how she would want Arya's story to end on the HBO show.
The actress made the revelation while visiting Syrian refugees in Greece as part of the International Rescue Committee program. Williams, along with co-cast members Lena Headey and Liam Cunningham, all shared how they would like the show to end, People magazine reported.
Williams commented that she would want her character to eventually find her own kind of happiness. She also added that she sees Arya becoming a lone ranger similar to the Hound.
On the other hand, fans hoping for Arya to reunite with the rest of Stark family members may be disappointed with what the actress has in mind. Williams stated that a family reunion was not part of what she had envisioned Arya's ending to be. She explained that each of the Stark children went through their own challenges and have grown up to become different individuals. The same can be said for Arya who has transformed into a different person. "I think she's better off on her own," Williams said.
Meanwhile, the remaining two episodes of the HBO series may each feature a shortened episode count. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss shared in a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly that they already came up with an estimate of how many hours will it take to tell the whole story. Benioff stated that over the years, the estimated storytelling hours has not changed.
The showrunner commented that it would take around 73 hours to share the whole "Game of Thrones" saga in HBO. With the Season 6 finale marking the 60th hour of the show, only 13 hours remain. The remaining 13 hours will be split over Season 7 and Season 8 with a potentially shortened episode count for each season.
The second to the last season "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to premiere in 2017.
