A.J. Styles and his The Club comrades, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, are scheduled to face the team of John Cena, Enzo Amore and Big Cass at WWE Battleground 2016. According to the latest rumors, the reason why the Six-Man Tag Team Match was booked is to protect Styles from Cena.

The Phenomenal One has been in the WWE for only six months but he has been in the main event picture since. He made his debut at the Royal Rumble in January, fought Chris Jericho for a series of matches and put on classic bouts with Roman Reigns at Payback and Extreme Rules.

Now, Styles is in a feud with the biggest superstar in the WWE for the past decade. He got the win in their first match after the interference by Gallows and Anderson. Many thought that a second one-on-one match will be scheduled for Battleground but WWE nixed the idea.

In the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Cena was getting attacked by The Club when Enzo & Big Cass came out for the save. The WWE then announced the Six-Man Tag Team Match for Battleground after the show.

Vince McMahon is very high on Enzo and Big Cass that is why they were inserted in the feud. McMahon is particularly enamored with Big Cass, who legitimately stands 7-foot tall, is the typical superstar that will last in the WWE.

According to The Inquisitr, the idea behind the booking is to protect Styles from being pinned by Cena. The match's outcome will likely have Cena, Enzo and Big Cass win. It is also WWE's way to protect their top star by gaining a victory over The Club.

The WWE has been going to the typical 50/50 booking in Cena's feud with Kevin Owens being the last victim last year. Owens losing the feud hurt him a bit but he has bounced back in a big way. Other stars that were hurt by that kind of booking with Cena include Wade Barrett and Rusev.

The second biggest WWE show of the year, SummerSlam, is inching closer and the company is saving Styles vs. Cena II for it. The 15-time WWE champion will likely go over Styles but they are expected to feud for the new World Heavyweight championship on SmackDown after the WWE Draft, Wrestling New Source reported.
