The Golden State Warriors could be looking to add more veterans at a cheap price. According to the latest rumors, two new candidates to join the super-team in the Bay Area are Mario Chalmers and Kendrick Perkins.

The Warriors have landed the most prized free agent this summer in Kevin Durant, but the team may be far from over in adding the supporting cast of their star-studded lineup. According to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Gate, the Warriors are also considering to add Mario Chalmers and Kendrick Perkins to the list of veterans willing to take less money for a chance to win a championship.

"The list of experienced players who might be willing to play for comparative peanuts in exchange for a chance to chase a championship is headlined by Ray Allen. The Warriors also have taken the temperatures on point guard Mario Chalmers and center Kendrick Perkins," Simmons wrote.

After spending more than seven season with the Miami Heat, Chalmers was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he only played 55 games, while averaging 10.8 points and 3.8 assists per contest.

Chalmers, a two-time NBA champ, would give the Warriors another experienced player who could play as backup to Stephen Curry. However, the Warriors already have Shaun Livingston and Ian Clark in the second unit, although Chalmers could come handy in the team's small-ball plays.

Perkins, on the other hand, would give the Warriors a big man who can anchor the team's defense. Perkins, a close friend of Durant, could step in as a backup to Zaza Pachulia, whom the Warriors also signed this summer for a cheap deal.

According to Basketball Insider's Alex Kennedy, the Warriors have shown interest in Perkins, who last played for the New Orleans Pelicans, but was only limited to 37 games because of a pectoral injury. While he only averaged 2.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for the Pelicans last season, the one-time NBA champ could still be useful to a team that now holds one of the underrated frontcourts in the league.

It remains to be seen whether the Warriors would really push hard in signing the two aforementioned veterans, but there is a possibility it could happen, with Golden State still in the process of putting together the supporting cast for their super stars.
