Justin Bieber's roast is just weeks away and he is definitely gearing up for the Comedy Central show but his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez won't be there as she is avoiding it at all costs.
Gomez is reportedly not going to be in the audience even if she was asked to participate as her rumored new love interest musical producer Zedd has something to do with her decision. According to Hollywood Life, the "The Heart Wants What It Wants" crooner chose to take the high road as she did not want to be part of publicly poking fun at Bieber.
The 22-year-old will miss the March 20 event as she feels it would be really disrespectful towards Zedd. Zedd reportedly told Gomez she can do whatever she pleases but she thinks that her rumored boyfriend is just being polite. The Jelena fans have expressed their hopes of seeing the two together again but it seems their wish won't be granted this time.
According to a source close to Zedd, the two have been friends for a long time already but their relationship has already turned into something much more than that although they have not yet publicly admitted it. Zedd reportedly was excited to work on new music together with Gomez as it was his chance to show that he liked Gomez for a time now.
The source adds that Gomez initially had no interest on Zedd as she was still dwelling on Bieber as they have recently broken up that time. However, during the Golden Globes the two made it look like there was something going on between them for the sake of the collab "I Want You To Know" but it seems they have gotten past the faking and decided to make it real.
As for Bieber, despite Gomez not being there, he reportedly wanted some of his close friends involved in the roast itself such as Chris D'Elia as he refuse to be totally thrashed.
According to TMZ, comedians such as Jeff Ross and Hannibal Buress will be part of the roasting and they are expected to not hold any bars against the pop star. The official Roast Master is said to be Kevin Hart but other people taking part of the roast have not been revealed yet.
