For now, it is clear that Ragnar's eldest son, Bjorn, is leading the line of succession, and actor Alexander Ludwig is excited to lead the young generation of Vikings in "Vikings" Season 4.

"When I was told we were going to introduce these new brothers and they're going to be older and it's going to revolve around this new generation and I'll be leading that, it was super exciting to see," Ludwig told IGN. For a long time on the show, Bjorn was seen as the only son who fought alongside Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) in war. However, as season 4B kicks in, viewers will be introduced to new key players.

In "Vikings" Season 4 episode 10, the audience was briefly introduced to four new actors, all of whom play Ragnar's children. But of the quartet, Alex Høgh Andersen's Ivar the Boneless is expected to be Ragnar's favorite and the fans' as well.

"The thing which separates Ivar from the other brothers is he understands Ragnar and he does not respect him in the same way as the other brothers," Andersen revealed about his role, as reported by IGN. "He's making fun of him. He's a little bit like Ragnar is to everybody else, and for once Ragnar experiences someone like him toward him. It's pretty new and interesting.

Ivar is admirable mostly for the fact that despite his disability, he is very strong-willed, which is exactly why Ragnar believes him to be the toughest of his sons and develops a fondness of him.

Although Ragnar will begin to age and one of his sons will soon take over, he will still play a prominent role throughout the rest of "Vikings" Season 4B. "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst previously said that Ragnar's story is still far from over and that fans are still about to see some of Travis Fimmel's best performances.
