"Dead of Summer" Season 1 episode 2 titled "Barney Rubble Eyes" showed a flashback revealing Alex Powell's (Ronen Rubinstein) immigration in 1977 from the Soviet Union to America. In episode 3 titled "Mix Tape," Carolina "Cricket" Diaz (Amber Coney) will make a play for him.
In "Mix Tape," Cricket will end up getting mixed up with the wrong crowd. Moreover, she is likely to get more than she bargained for, Entertainment Weekly has learned.
Campers arrived at Camp Stillwater in "Barney Rubble Eyes." In the episode, the counselors had a problem with a Russian camper named Anton Melkinov (Allan Daniel Fisher) who went missing while Alex put acid in his best friend's drink and got him fired.
"Barney Rubble Eyes" was written by Ian Goldberg and directed by Ron Underwood. Airing on July 12, Tuesday, on Freeform, "Mix Tape" is written by Goldberg's "Dead of Summer" co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and directed by Mick Garris.
Prior to the premiere of "Dead of Summer" on June 28, Coney talked about her character in the new TV series. In an interview with Ksite TV, the actress described her character as a "super warm and snarky" lady who has "a little bit of sass."
Coney said Cricket is very excited about the camp. She is reconvening with all of her former camp counselors for the first time in a long time.
When asked who will win a sass fight between Cricket and Blair Ramos (Mark Indelicato), Coney said "it would be a match." However, the actress said Indelicato would win in real life.
In addition, Coney pointed out that Cricket does not necessarily like the fact that Alex wants the attention of Amy Hughes (Elizabeth Lail) more than hers. However, Cricket is so warm that is not going to ice Amy because of that, the actress explained.
Aside from playing Cricket in "Dead of Summer," Coney is set to star in "Kill the Czar" with James Franco and Coral Amiga. The thriller film is directed by Bruce Thierry Cheung.
