Roger Federer is set to join Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal at the Rogers Cup in Toronto on July 25-31 after the Swiss Maestro's disappointing loss at Wimbledon.

After falling short in his campaign to win an eighth crown at the All England Club in Church Road, Federer is now set to compete at the ATP 1000 Masters in Canada, where he has a chance to play career rivals Djokovic and Nadal, who are also both scheduled to play at the Rogers Cup.

Federer would have had the chance to finally get back on track, but a five-setter loss to Canada's Milos Raonic has continued his title-drought this season, which has been marred by setbacks and injuries. But it seems Federer will continue his bid this season with another injury after the 17-time Grand Slam winner took a slip and hurt his knee in the final set of his semifinal match against Raonic. Although the Swiss admitted he is hoping for the better.

"I just I hope I didn't hurt myself. Then, is it a three?day thing, is it a 24?hour thing or is it more? I don't know at this point," Federer said, reports the Express. "I hope it's not so bad. I walked it off. I was able to finish. But I don't slip a lot. I don't ever fall down. It was a different fall for me than I've ever had."

"With the body that's been, you know, playing up this year, I just hope I'm going to be fine."

Federer suffered a knee injury a day after losing to Djokovic at the Australian Open earlier this year, which forced the 34-year-old to be sidelined from the tennis scene for more than two months. His post-knee surgery recuperation was also marred by back problems that contributed to his struggles during the European clay-season circuit and forced him to skip the French Open.

It remains to be seen whether Federer hurting his knee at Wimbledon would have any effect to his immediate future I the sport, but it would be a major blow to his chance of competing at the Rio Olympics and winning the remaining Grand Slam event of the year in New York.
