Brock Lesnar says in a post-fight press conference that he is open to getting back to the Octagon again after his upcoming fight with Randy Orton in the WWE and its other storylines.
Lesnar hosted his post-match press conference by himself after his match with Mark Hunt. During the interview, he said that what made him win was by sticking to the plan: taking some good shots and pinning him down. "Let's get one thing clear: Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do," he jokingly added.
The future seems bright for Lesnar to make a return to MMA after this fight. He will make the decision to fight in the Octagon again if he wants to, The Daily Mirror quoted 'The Beast' during his post-fight interview. He further said that he's pretty proud of himself being a 39 year-old man.
After a six-year hiatus in UFC and being busy with WWE since 2012, the pro-wrestling superstar surprised fans all over the world by dominating top 8 heavyweight Australian Mark Hunt in their fight at UFC 200 in Las Vegas on Saturday. Lesnar thanked all the support he received by making everything possible on such short-notice, despite being away for six years.
After three rounds of grounding and pounding between the two, Lesnar appeared dominant during the first and third rounds. This earned him the heavyweight title over a unanimous decision made by all three judges with a score of 29-27.
This was also Hunt's biggest battle to date. After having spent three weeks undergoing intensive training in Las Vegas according to an article News.com.au, his efforts have been thwarted by Lesnar's much more powerful overall strength.
Once dubbed "The Baddest Man on the Planet", Lesnar utilized his usual maneuver against Hunt: tackling him down and overpowering him until he couldn't move and get anywhere. Hunt was able to fight back in the second round and land some powerful right-handed punches until being taken down again in the third by Lesnar and left him hanging and hurt.
This fight was sold as a co-main alongside the cancelled bout between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier for the light-heavyweight championship, after Jones tested positive on an undisclosed substance. Anderson Silva has made a substitute over Jones to continue the fight. Also, Amanda Nunes made Miesha Tate submit over a rear-naked chokehold during the first round.
The show garnered 20,000 fans watching inside T-Mobile Arena and over a million TV pay-per-view watchers all around the world. Other main card results include José Aldo defeating Frankie Edgar with Connor McGregor observing beside the Octagon, and Cain Velasquez defeating Travis Browne in the first round.
