Star of the ¨Bourne Identity¨ Matt Damon, who is promoting the latest installment of the franchise, revealed that he welcomes a younger actor taking on the title character in the future. Damon claimed that it is perfectly natural to be replaced and have the film rebooted.

The "Good Will Hunting" actor was in South Korea promoting the action franchise's fifth installment in Asia, according to Hollywood Reporter. "Iḿ definitely going to be replaced someday by some new young Jason Bourne," Damon was quoted by the publication as saying during an interview in Seoul.

The actor further remarked that he was "totally fine" with being replaced. He added that it was the outcome of every franchise and a "reboot" was what fans could expect in the future.

While Damon said that he had no control of future productions of the "Bourne" series, he remarked that he had control of only those that he was a part of at the moment. He said he battled to have the same creative team in the fifth installment as it was important to him.

It has been 14-years since "The Martian" actor took on the lead character of Jason Bourne. While Damon said he was excited to play the role, he also added that this time around it was not easy to keep up.

"It's difficult when you're 45 compared to when you're 29, but you still have to run as fast as you can," he was quoted by the publication as saying. The "Bourne" franchise is attributed with being the catalyst movie to propel Damon as a serious movie star.

While actor Jeremy Renner played the lead character in the fourth "Bourne" film, reportedly fans are excited to have Damon on board for the newest installment. He has appeared in the first three parts of the franchise.

The "Bourne" films are based on books written by Robert Ludlum. The main protagonist is Jason Bourne, a CIA assassin who suffers from memory loss and tries to piece together his past. The latest film is to hit theaters on July 29, 2016.

Meanwhile, the "Elysium" actor was spotted in London recently with his wife Luciana Barroso. The duo was seen dining at the Sexy Fish restaurant, the Daily Mail reported. Barroso often joins her husband on his promotional tours and as such was present during Damon's London promotional activities.
