Already labeled as a reboot of the 1980's release, "Ghostbusters" 2016 started inviting comparative comments from audiences and critics soon after hitting the big screen.

As of now, there are mixed opinions from viewers regarding the overall impact of the movie. However, when it comes to how powerful was the women effect in the rebooted version of the Paul Feig movie, a majority of the population seemed disappointed.

Chris Hemsworth played Kevin, a male receptionist to the new all-women Ghostbusters crew, in the new version. In one of the sequences, he was shown sitting in a fish tank while answering a phone call. His removal of the lenses from his glasses for easy rubbing of his eye is one of the funniest scenes in the flick. Where the entire movie disheartened "Ghostbusters" fans, this one sequence has tried to retain the interest of the audiences.

A male receptionist to a female-led crew is a unique thought. Feig made an attempt to replace all-former female personifying designations by male characters and vice-versa. But the magic of women in the flick faded gradually and it lost the charm until the end. Hollywood Reporter stated that the movie had used few lines to show it focused on feminism.

In the movie, there are dialogues that seem to have been incorporated to justify the movie's female star cast. "You shoot like girls," a villain said in the movie. "Ain't no bitches gonna hunt no ghosts," one of the dialogues that stressed on the real life reactions gathered for the female oriented movie.

The Mirror reported that one of the Ghostbusters' female lead Melissa McCarthy said that she found the criticisms peculiar and that too when no such attempt has ever been made earlier.

"Ghostbusters" has also been compared to "Bridesmaids" as both of them are directed by Feig. The latter is remembered as a comedy flick because of the scene in which the girls gross in a similar way as guys as they poop-in-public sequence. But unlike the 2016 "Ghostbusters" that is likely to be remembered because of few comic elements, Bridesmaid had several other interesting sequences to offer to audiences as well as critics.

Where some people find it disheartening, there are few people who appreciated the comedy that the flick offered.
