As rumors continue to swirl that release date of the Google Nexus 2016 is happening soon, the devices to be replaced by the new handsets are getting significant price cuts. From the Play Store, the Huawei Nexus 6P sticker price is down by $150 with the deal including Project Fi while over at Amazon the tag for the same Stock Android smartphone has been cutback by up to $170.

Google making the Nexus 6P a more compelling is part of the latest speed upgrade to its Project Fi international roaming. According to Droid Life, travelling with the Nexus phone will give users access to data connection that is ten times faster than before. The connectivity speed bump is totally free and will cover more than 135 destinations.

Now to further convince that its signature phones are the best option out three, Google is bundling the Nexus 6P and LG Nexus 5X with its MVNO and the offer is packed with tempting discounts. For the smaller 5X, the asking price is now only $199.

But for users wanting the more premium 6P, the Project Fi package with 32GB of storage space just became cheaper by $150. The Nexus 6P sticker price on Google Play Store now reads $349.

Or Nexus fans can opt for Amazon instead as the giant online retailer is currently on sale mode - its Prime Day Deal has just started. And part of the promo is same-day delivery (or in just a few hours for some select destinations) for all orders but the best part is the Nexus 6P price tag that is now at its lowest level, according to Android Police.

The Nexus 6P with 64GB of memory is down to $403.75 or $145 less from the present selling price of $549.99. For the 128GB edition, the asking price has been pulled down to $478.75 from $649. The savings amount to $170 on this pick that offers the highest memory found on a Nexus.

Amazon will ship out the devices at no cost and buyers can pick from Gold, Silver and Graphite color options but Android Police reminded that Gold is only available for the 64GB Nexus 6P.

And as always the case, deals like these only point to one exciting possibility - the rollout for the next Nexus is about to happen and soon enough. Rumors suggest that three vanilla Android phones are coming out this 2016 - two from HTC and possibly one more from Huawei. All three are believed to unbox with the new Snapdragon 821, supported by up to 6GB RAM, as main engine.

The Nexus 2016 release date is seen to happen immediately after the global debut of Android 7.0 Nougat, which Google will reportedly start deploying no later than August.
