Jeremy Lin is looking forward to his homecoming in New York by way of the Brooklyn Nets. With a retooled ballclub, he considers the ‘blank state’ a perfect chance for him to blend in and lead.

Jeremy Lin is coming off a good season with the Charlotte Hornets, coming off the bench and make do with the minutes given to him. Though his time on the court may be limited, the 27-year-old guard made an impact by leading the way for Hornets coach Steve Clifford. But can he do it as a full-time starter?

Once the 2016-17 NBA season opens, Jeremy Lin is expected to be elevated to the starting role. He will take over from Jarrett Jack who was waived following a knee injury. Jack will be suiting up for his eighth team after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, ESPN reported.

The starting point guard role is Lin’s to lose. He will be guided by the same person (Kenny Atkinson) who helped produce “Linsanity” rise in New York and can do his usual pick-and-rolls with a tested center in Brook Lopez.

It will technically be a boot for Jeremy Lin, many expecting the reboot of “Linsanity 2.0”. It is the best time as any to continue his success and prove to other teams and NBA fans that he deserves that $36 million deal given to him by the Nets.

Adding some motivation for Jeremy Lin is that he will be looking to be the next Asian to make an impact in the NBA. The first one was Yao Ming, the 7-foot-3 center who started and ended his career with the Houston Rockets.

Lin admits that Yao was an inspiration, someone he followed when he was still in high school. Now, he knows that it is his time to shine and hopefully become the next Asian to leave a mark in the National Basketball Association, Fox Sports reported.
