Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez will face reigning World Boxing Council super flyweight champion Carlos Cuadras on Sept. 10 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Chocolatito's next fight is one of the undercards for the upcoming showdown between Gennady Golovkin and Kell Brook.

Gonzalez and Cuadras made the announcement on Wednesday, ESPN reported. Gonzalez, the reigning WBC flyweight champion, said that he decided to move up in weight and face Cuadras because he is eyeing to win a world title in four different divisions.

"I'm very happy to challenge Carlos Cuadras for a world title in my fourth weight class," Gonzalez said. "It's an honor to return to fight at The Forum in front of the great Los Angeles fight fans."

Gonzalez, who has a perfect 45-0 record with 38 knockout victories, is considered as the best pound-for-pound boxer today, following the retirement of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. The Nicaraguan champion is coming off a unanimous decision victory over McWilliams Arroyo in April.

The two fighters have been trading heated words in recent weeks, BoxingScene reported. In one exchange, Cuadras said Gonzalez should stop talking about a rematch with Juan Francisco Estrada. Cuadras said that he is the only fighter who could give Gonzalez his "medicine."

Gonzalez responded and said that he will crush Cuadras if ever they collide in the future. "We are not going to knock you out - we will crush you slowly," he said.

On the other hand, Cuadras also said that he is excited to defend his title against Gonzalez. It will also be his first fight on HBO and just his second fight in the United States. While he has traded verbal jabs with Gonzalez, the 27-year-old Mexican said he has a lot of respect for Chocolatito.

"Roman Gonzalez is a great champion and I have a lot of respect for him," Cuadras said. "I will prepare myself to be in the best condition of my boxing career to defend my WBC belt."

Cuadras has racked up 35 wins with no defeats and just one draw in his professional career. The Sinaloa, Mexico native is coming off a stoppage win over Richie Mepranum in April.
