There's no denying that Song Joong Ki is one of South Korea's most obsessed-over celebrities. Due to the success of his latest drama series "Descendants of the Sun," the actor is now one of the most sought-after personalities across Asia. While his pairing with co-star Song Hye Kyo is also on a record-breaking high, fans cannot help but look at the possibility of teaming him up with other actresses.
"Doctors" actress Park Shin Hye is being pegged as a prospective leading lady to Song Joong Ki. If a project does come for the two, it won't be their first time working together, as they previously collaborated as ambassadors for the Jeonju International Film Festival. They appeared in events together and actively participated in campaign projects.
Both Song Joong Ki and Park Shin Hye are popular and highly-decorated actors who received praise from fans and colleagues for their superb acting skills. Being prolific Hallyu stars, anything Song Joong Ki and Park Shin Hye will work on together will most certain turn to gold, and may also surpass SongSong couple popularity.
Interestingly, Park Shin Hye's "The Heirs" leading man Lee Min Ho is currently being paired with Song Joong Ki's rumored girlfriend Song Hye Kyo, after an old interview of Lee resurfaced in which he revealed that Song Hye Kyo is his ideal type.
"I would like to work with my ideal type, Song Hye Gyo sunbae (senior). Although she has an elegant and classic style, her charisma is also strong and her acting talent is outstanding," Drama Fever quoted Lee Min Ho as saying.
For now, there are no talks about a project for Park Shin Hye and Song Joong Ki. While the actress is busy promoting on-air series "Doctors," Song Joong Ki is also preparing for his upcoming movie "Battleship Island." As reported by Soompi, the actor has been training hard to bulk up and prepare for his role as he will soon begin filming.
"Battleship Island" is based on the true story of 400 South Koreans who were forced to work in Hashima Island to mine coal during the Japanese colonial era. Song Joong Ki will take on the role of Park Moo Young, a member of the Korean Independence group, who enters Hashima Island in order to liberate its inhabitants from forced labor.
