The sixth season of "Suits" recently premiere on the small screen with Mike starting his new life behind bars. Cast member Patrick J. Adams has teased some interesting details on Mike's new threat and a potential prison conflict that can impact his character's life.
The "Suits" Season 6 premiere episode titled "To Trouble" that aired on Wednesday, July 13, picked up where the previous season left off with Mike, played by Adams, heading to prison and other beloved characters reeling from finding an empty Pearson Specter Litt office. It also showed Mike's first night in prison where he discovered that someone could make his life behind bars very difficult.
It appears that Adams' character's new enemy Frank (Paul Schulze) shares a history with Harvey (Gabriel Macht). Mike's former colleague was the person responsible for Frank's imprisonment. In an interview with The New York Times, Adams described Frank as a "physical menace" who is capable of inflicting pain or hurting other people.
The actor commented that Mike's said prison mate would be different from the villains that his character has encountered outside of prison. The former Pearson Specter Litt associate has previously dealt with individuals who can hurt other people in non-physical ways. Given Frank's quest for revenge against Harvey, Mike's stay in prison has now become problematic.
He even shared that given the prison's common spaces and how cell doors are mostly left open, Mike's life may be in danger. He also hinted at Mike potentially being caught unaware of Frank's attack.
Adams also made a similar comment during an interview with E! Online where he shared how Mike would have to deal with a person from Harvey's checkered past. However, another prison mate may also provide additional conflict to Mike's stay behind bars. The actor shared that a case that Harvey will be working on will be connected to one of the persons that Mike will have to deal with in prison.
It would also provide viewers a chance at seeing the two characters work together again, although at separate locations. "So the two worlds are connected and it's us on the other side of a problem working together to try and fix it," Adams said.
"Suits" Season 6 airs every Wednesday on the USA Network.
