Filipino-British model and host of "Asia's Next Top Model" Georgina Wilson does not believe in the traditional belief on how marriage changes a person. For her, marriage does not necessarily change a person but rather, makes life a lot more fun.
In an interview with Manila Bulletin, Wilson shared her thoughts about her recent marriage during the launch of Sunnies Studios' optical line Specs. She revealed how she is going through adjustments from being an independent woman to being English businessman Arthur Burnand's wife which involves informing her husband about her decisions and activities.
"When I buy things for a house, I need to cross-reference and inform him [about these], which I'm so not used to because I'm such an independent person. But I think, when you find the right partner also, they let you be yourself and they don't try to change you. They even like to empower your position [that] even if I want to buy a crazy thing, he [will] be rational... It's a serious and grown-up thing, but it's actually also fun," Wilson said.
In addition, Wilson complimented her husband whom she described as "very supportive." According to her, Burnand is a fan of her business venture Sunnies Studios that he even gives suggestions about the business showing how he is very much involved and concerned. As a businessman himself, Wilson values her husband's "good ideas." She also added how Burnand understands her busy schedule since she established her company where she works as the brand's marketing manager.
Wilson also calls her marriage "modern" since they are based in different cities. Burnand works in Shanghai while she is based in Manila and despite the distance, they make sure to take time to regularly visit each other.
She tied the knot with Burnand last April 30 in London. According to Rappler, her fairy take-like wedding came as a surprise among her fans since not a lot of details about her relationships, engagement and wedding have been shared to the public. Followers of Wilson had known mostly about her bachelorette party, wedding and reception through social media posts from her relatives and celebrity guests.
