The second trailer for MBC's suspense melodrama "W" arrives online. The 50-second long trailer features some new footage like a romantic scene between lead stars Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo, where the latter is passionately kissed by the former.
The released trailer hints a brewing romance between a young chaebol, Kang Chul (Lee), who exist in the webtoon world called "W" and Oh Yeon Joo (Han), who is a surgeon in the real world. It also gave viewers a first look at Kim Eui-Sung's character, Oh Seong Moon, who is a renowned comic book creator along with his apprentice named Park Soo-Bong (Lee Si-Un).
"W" centers on Lee's character, Kang Chul, who can go through two diverse dimensions. He is a former shooting Olympic gold medalist and the main protagonist in the webtoon world of "W," written and illustrated by Han's father, Oh Seong Moon.
With a two distinct universe intertwined throughout the story setting, an unforeseeable crisis and conflicts emerge when Oh Seong Moon suddenly disappears. Sudden twists and turns are set to happen when Oh Yeon Joo happens to enter "W" and meet the protagonist of the said webtoon universe.
"There are certain hidden rules for the way how Kang Cheol and Oh Yeon-Joo, who live in completely different worlds connect to each other," a member of the drama's production team told Sports Seoul. "It will be interesting to focus on how the incredible imagination to create the character in a webtoon as the main lead and how smartly the idea is implemented in the story through the special hidden rules."
"W" will benefit from the creativity of PD Jung Dae Yoon, whose previous projects include 2014's "Cunning Single Lady" and 2015's "She Was Pretty." The 16-episode drama is written by Song Jae Jung.
"Lee Jong Suk is devoting all of his energy into his acting, so much so that you can only think of Kang Chul when you see him," a representative from the drama's production company told Korea's Naver TV, complementing the actor's diligent work. "Please look forward to the charming Kang Chul character Lee Jong Suk has created while sweating in the hot weather."
Other stars include actress Jeong Eu Gene, Lee Si Un, Kang Ki Young, Lee Tae Hwan and more. "W" is slated to premiere on July 20 at 10:00 PM (KST). Check out the trailer below:
