At the beginning, players are introduced to Professor Willow, who offers one out of three Pokemon for their Pokemon Go journey. Players are expected to choose one out of Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. Don't be fooled. There is a fourth option, too. It happens to be fan-favourite Pikachu. Here are few tips and tricks to catch Pikachu as the first Pokemon on your Pokedex.

To get Pikachu as a starter Pokemon, avoid the three options provided by Professor Willow in the beginning. When Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur appears, just walk away. The three Pokemon will appear again. Continue walking in any direction and force the three to appear at least four times. After the fourth or fifth attempt, Pikachu will appear as the fourth option. As soon as it emerges, walk over and turn the camera on to throw the pokeball on it given to you by Professor Willow to catch your first Pokemon.

However, it must be noted that the starter Pokemon does not make a difference in the game. These can be located in the regular gameplay. If missed at the beginning, Pikachu can be found later in the game. According to Heavy, it is found near science or electricity related stops. Squirtle can be reportedly found near water, Balbausaur near greenery and Charmander near fire stations. Scroll down to watch the video.

In the meantime, Mirror is reporting that a Pokemon Go player found Pikachu at the grave of his deceased brother, who loved Pikachu. The player posted a photo of the grave with Pikachu on it on Twitter.

The post in Japanese, reads (as translated by the website): "There was a Pikachu at the grave of my little brother who loved Pikachu.(In Pokémon GO, Pikachu is rare and hard to find.)"

However, the website suggests that it is not clear if the person who tweeted the photo is related to the deceased boy.
