The Nintendo game, which allows users to catch characters on their smartphones in real-life settings, has not yet been released in South Korea but is already being played by thousands of Korean. Recently, it was reported that "Pokémon Go" can be played in Sokcho, Gangwon-do province.

Jung took to Instagram to vent out his frustration about the fact that he could not find any Pokémon in the metro area of Seoul, South Korea. The caption reads, "I wandered Hongdae until I could find a Pokémon. Please let GPS work in Seoul. I'm so irritated that I'm about to head to Sokcho."

The said post was deleted shortly after it caught the attention of many fans. Nonetheless, a series of photos of the singer roaming the streets of Sokcho surrounded by many fans and other "Pokémon Go" players subsequently circulated widely on social media.

The singer took the time to stop for selfies with fans and interact with them, All K-pop reported. He even asked some of them where are the best spots in Sokcho to find and catch rare and legendary Pokémon.

On July 15, Friday, Jung made another post on Instagram with a caption, "I would always be asked this kind of question for interviews 'What's your goal for the year?' and I'd always give the typical answer that I want to live a healthy life. But now I've gleaned my true answer to that question... I will become a Pokémon master."

Jung is only one of the thousands who rushed to Sokcho to play "Pokémon Go." Since word got out that it was possible to play "Pokemon Go" in the city, the town has been bombarded with thousands of tourists. Bus tickets from Seoul to Sokcho are already sold out through the weekend.

In a Facebook Live interview with The Huffington Post Korea, Sokcho Mayor Lee Byung-Seon announced that he would build additional free Wi-Fi hotspots and battery charging stations in the city. He also asked people to be safe if they intend to visit the city. The city's Facebook page also posted a map of all the free Wi-Fi spots in Sokcho for visitors.
