The timeline of Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh's return is still "unsure" at the moment as the team feels that it is a "sensitive, complicated situation", according to team president Pat Riley.

Riley told reporters in a press conference last Saturday that the situation about their 32-year-old, 11-time NBA All-Star big man is "very fluid", which means he has no answer about the exact date when Bosh will return on the court for the Heat.

"It's a positive environment right now with Chris," said Riley, as per ESPN. "I think his doctors and our doctors are constantly, or more so now than ever, communicating. I know what Chris wants. I know he wants to play. And obviously we would be open to that, but this is still a very fluid situation."

The former NBA champion head coach then said that they are considering all their options for Bosh, even planning to restrict him to a certain "travel schedule" during the coming season or having him participate in a "limited workload" only, Sports Illustrated indicated.

"It's a sensitive, complicated situation," Riley added.

The two-time NBA champion had been coping with a chronic blood clot condition since he was first diagnosed during the 2014-2015 season, where he only played 44 games for Miami. He was sidelined for the remainder of the said season after a blood clot was found in one of his lungs in a series of tests when he was hospitalized after playing in the 2015 NBA All-Star game.

Bosh returned to the court the following season, gracing Miami's season opener against the Charlotte Hornets and producing 21 points and 10 boards in a 104-94 victory. He was able to play 53 games into the season, averaging 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 33.5 minutes per game, but was again diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg, which forced the franchise to rule him out again indefinitely.

While the former Georgia Tech standout is keen on suiting up for the Heat even with his condition, the management, team physicians, and his personal doctors are not allowing him to do so because of the very high risk involved in his recurring medical disorder.

Bosh is entering the third season of his current five-year, $118.7 million deal with Miami, which owes him about $75 million until the end of the 2018-2019 season when he will become an unrestricted free agent.
