Recent reports are out that new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is "positive" that the transfer of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba to the Old Trafford will soon happen this summer.
The 23-year-old France international had long been the favorite of Mourinho since his days as Chelsea head coach and this time, the Portuguese mentor is said to be "so optimistic" he will finally snag Pogba that "he is already acting as if he's got his man", the Daily Star reported.
A world record-breaking £100 million transfer deal is reportedly what it would cost United to acquire Pogba and the Premier League giants are said to be ready to pay the bill to get what they want.
The current record is set at £85 million when La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid bought Welshman Gareth Bale from English club Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013.
Providing boost for Man United is Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, who also represents Mourinho's recent acquisitions, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Mourinho and Raiola is believed to have a special friendship in between them, which is why the Special One is assured that the deal will eventually push through.
Meanwhile, Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri "remains confident" in Pogba choosing to stay in Turin for the duration of his current contract, which is up to 2019, according to Times Live.
"I am calm about the English rumors," the 48-year-old Italian manager said. "Anyone who has the opportunity to leave Juventus has to consider things very carefully, because right now Juve are among the top four European clubs."
Pogba has been with the Old Lady for the last four seasons, all of which had ended with the Scudetto right in the club's possession. He also helped Le Zebre get the team's second consecutive double after winning the Coppa Italia again last term. He was also a key part of the 2014-2015 squad that placed runner-up to Barcelona in the Champions League that season.
He had appeared in a total of 178 games for Juve during the said time period and had scored 34 goals in the process, earning the reputation of being one of the best and most versatile box-to-box midfielders in the sport today.
