People behind HBO's massive hit "Game of Thrones" revealed they were forced to skip a battle scene from the show due to budget constraints. The scene was supposed to be part of the first season, a big battle involving Peter Dinklage's character, Tyrion Lannister and The Mountain aka Gregor Clegane played by Conan Stevens.

The showrunners of HBO's fantasy drama David Benioff and Dan Weiss was in the UFC Unfiltered podcast. They talked about the fantasy series and remembered they skipped a big battle scene in season 1, Digital Spy reported.

"Thinking back to season one, there was supposed to be this big battle," the showrunners said during the podcast. "Tyrion Lannister follows The Mountain into combat..We were going to have the camera at Peter Dinklage's eye level and have him follow this giant, The Mountain, into battle and just see everything."

Dinklage stands 4 feet and 5 inches while Stevens is more than 7 feet in height. Benioff and Weiss admitted they ran out of money so they could not do such fight which happens to be one of the huge battles from the book. However, they agreed it may be better because they were able to come up with "Battle of the Bastards" in this year's season and that skipped scene would never have matched with season 6's epic battle.

The series' season 6 episode 9 "Battle of the Bastards" is a fight between two bastard characters. Jon Snow of House Stark and Ramsay Bolton of House Bolton confronted each other with their respective troops in the fight for Winterfell.

The epic battle was spectacular and one of the best ever shown on the small screen. It killed and threatened some characters loved by viewers, including a hated villain of the series, Bolton, played by Iwan Rheon. It is one of the most remembered scenes in the series season ever.

"'Battle of the Bastards' delivers one of the greatest battle sequences in the show's history," according to the critics consensus on Rotten Tomatoes, which gives it 98 percent rating. "...and some savagely satisfying vengeance as well."
