"Girl Meets World" season 3 and Disney Channel were recently praised by fans for including a law enforcement storyline on Friday night's episode.

In "Girl Meets True Maya," Topanga (Danielle Fishel) came face-to-face with a stern-looking cop who was doing his job right. The female character told the cop several times that he is doing a hard but wonderful job in making sure that everyone in their neighborhood is safe.

"Family Matters" alum Reginald VelJohnson was the one who gave life to the character of the cop.

In one of the scenes, VelJohnson's character saw Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) vandalizing on the park by painting a mural of the word "Hope." Obviously, vandalism is punishable by law, but the police officer decided to let Maya go with just a warning because he understood what the young girl felt like she needed to do.

The same officer, who looked very scary, also allowed a child who mistakenly took some candies from the store, go. After all, the child didn't realize that paying for the candy was a must.

Meanwhile, following Friday night's episode, several fans of "Girl Meets World" couldn't help but praise the network and the writers of the sitcom for addressing such important storyline about law enforcement and police officials, according to FOX.

"To us, whether intentional or unintentional, there was also a really important message about the police in this episode as well: They're not all bad... You can argue against the realism of this said cop character, but reading between the lines, it felt as though the show was trying to enforce that there are still good police officers out there, ones who exercise sympathy and know that certain punishments do not always fit certain crimes," the fan wrote.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
