In "Hawaii Five-0's" 7th season, the future of Chin as Sara's adoptive father seems blurry, as the show introduces more complications to the plot.

According to the International Business Times, executive producer Peter M Lenkov shared that there will be interesting twists to the storyline of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7. At the end of season 6, Gabriel's dying wish was for Chin to adopt Sara and become her guardian. However, new characters from Gabriel's family may enter the plot of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 in order to stop Chin from being Sara's dad.

With that said, Chin will develop an understanding that a child like Sara needs to have a fully functioning family to grow up with. Lenkov shares that Sara has "family in Mexico also," and from the looks of it, Sara will probably return "home" in "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7. While it could be a "better environment for [Sara]," Hawaii Five-0 fans can expect "a nice little arc between Gabriel's family and Chin," in regards to the custody of the child.

Furthermore, the future seems brighter for Chin's love life. When "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 premieres, Chin will certainly be living together with Abby.

However, according to Ecumenical News, given that Lenkov tends to not completely divulge the fate of the characters to its actors, even actor Daniel Dae Kim himself isn't 100 percent sure about how matters will resolve in Chin's life. This motion was seconded by co-star Alex O'Loughlin, saying that he does not "know what Peter has in store for us"; however, he is confident that there are "all sorts of love and torture" written for their beloved characters.

In other news, Pakistani-American actor Faran Tahir will officially be joining "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 as a guest star. The "Prison Break" actor is slated to finish filming his scenes for "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 this coming weekend, although the details about his character is yet to be shared. He commented that he has been blessed as an actor "location wise," citing that his various projects have taken him to Vancouver, Morocco, and now to the "beautiful Hawaii" to appear on the said show.

"Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 is slated to premiere on CBS on Sept. 23.
