Could it be that Apple will soon make happen the rumored MacBook Pro 2016 release date as reports emerged that Intel has shipped out in volumes the seventh-generation Kaby Lake processing chip? Rumors have it that like Microsoft, Apple plans to deploy its future computing devices running on the new platform.

"Intel's seventh-generation generation Core processor was recently delivered to unspecified companies in sufficient quantities for manufacturing," Apple Insider reported. The chip, like its Intel Skylake predecessor, employs the same 14-nanometer manufacturing process, somehow indicating that the chance is high for the upcoming MacBook Pro to use Kaby Lake instead of Skylake.

However, Apple Insider was quick to point out that the initial batch of Kaby Lake chips delivered by Intel are likely for mobile devices, specifically tablet computers. "The first run of chips are not likely destined for Apple's MacBook Pro," the report said.

In the event though of the MacBook Pro 2016 eventually getting the Kaby Lake chip, the laptop stands to benefit from significant specs bumps. One particular upgrade is the data transfer via the USB 3.1 Type C standard. Per the same report, the 2016 12-inch MacBook is capable of up to 5GPS for Generation 1 of the same standard.

For Generation 2 and through the likely implementation using the MBP 2016, the data transfer speed is seen to gain twice the existing rate or up to 10GBPS.

Kaby Lake too on the MacBook Pro 2016 will allow for a more optimal use of the Thunderbolt 3 bandwidth, which can be hooked up on the same USB 3.1 Type C port. The technology fully supports "4K displays at 60Hz, and contains HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2," Apple Insider said.

Also integrated with the 7th-gen Intel chip is significant graphic engine speed boosts that makes for increased productivity and enhanced gaming experience likely to be packed with the 2016 MacBook Pro.

The likely scenario of Kaby Lake's deployment in the MacBook line is it will exclusively power the MBP models while Skylake will be used for the 12-inch MacBook, which in fact Apple has commenced doing with the latter's 2016 edition.

Intel has indicated that the mass availability of Kaby Lake will happen in latter part of 2016 at the earliest, which syncs with the rumors that the MacBook Pro 2016 release date is scheduled between October and November this year. In powering the MBP 2016, the new chip is set to work in tandem with MacOS Sierra.
